HOW DO I BOOK IN?

YOU CAN BOOK DIRECTLY THROUGH THE WEBSITE FOR THE SPECIFIC MASSAGE YOU WOULD LIKE OR YOU CAN RING OR TEXT FOR AN APPOINTMENT.

 

HOW CAN I PAY FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

YOU CAN PAY CASH OR ELECTRONIC TRANSFER ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT.

 

CAN I CLAIM FROM MY HEALTH FUND FOR MY MASSAGE APPOINTMENT?

YES, YOU CAN, PROVIDED YOU HAVE EXTRAS THAT COVER REMEDIAL MASSAGE. I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A RECEIPT WITH MY PROVIDER NUMBER ON IT AND YOU CAN CLAIM ONLINE DIRECTLY THROUGH YOUR HEALTH FUND.

 

HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?

IF IT IS YOUR FIRST MASSAGE APPOINTMENT AND YOU NEED TO MANUALLY FILL OUT A HEALTH HISTORY FORM YOU WILL NEED TO ARRIVE 10 MINUTES EARLY, OTHERWISE, 5 MINUTES PRIOR TO YOUR MASSAGE IS FINE FOR REPEAT CLIENTS.

 

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I HAVE A MASSAGE?

EVERY BODY IS DIFFERENT AND THIS WILL DEPEND ON YOUR INDIVIDUAL CONDITIONS. ONCE YOUR CONDITION IS MANAGEABLE, I LIKE TO ENCOURAGE MY CLIENTS TO HAVE A MONTHLY MASSAGE TO MAINTAIN HEALTH AND WELLBEING.

 

HOW SOON AFTER SURGERY CAN I HAVE A MASSAGE?

THIS WILL DEPEND ON THE SURGERY THAT YOU ARE HAVING AND YOU WOULD NEED TO SEEK DIRECTION FROM YOUR DOCTOR.

 

I HAVE NEVER HAD A REMEDIAL MASSAGE BEFORE - WILL IT HURT?

THIS WILL DEPEND ON WHAT MUSCLE DYSFUNCTION YOU HAVE. REMEDIAL MASSAGE IS GENERALLY FIRM PRESSURE AND MUSCLE RELEASING WILL NEED TO BE DONE TO TREAT THE DYSFUNCTION.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PREGNANCY MASSAGE FAQ'S

 

IS IT SAFE TO HAVE MASSAGE DURING THE FIRST TRIMESTER?

Pregnancy massage is safe if performed by a Remedial Massage therapist who has professional training in pregnancy massage.

 

It is NOT recommended to book in if you have any of the following contraindications during the first 12 weeks:

History of bleeding.

Abdominal pain.

Nausea or hyperemesis gravidarum.

Fever and malaise.

History of previous miscarriage.

Pre-existing high risk condition prior to pregnancy, including but not limited to, diabetes, kidney, hypertension, cardiac disease to name a few

Poor outcome in previous pregnancy.

Previous late term loss (past 20 weeks gestation).

Placental abruption in previous pregnancy

 

WHY DO YOU PROVIDE PREGNANCY MASSAGE IN A SIDE LYING POSITION?

Laying on your back after 20/22 weeks causes excess pressure on the deep blood vessels in the abdomen, reducing circulation to you and your baby.

This can make you dizzy and sick from lack of blood flow. 

 

IF I AM A HIGH RISK PREGNANCY, CAN I BOOK IN A PREGNANCY MASSAGE?

You will need to have the Go ahead from your medical professional before having your first massage.

This needs to be in writing (email is fine) from your Obstetrician, public or private Midwife or GP.

 

CAN I CLAIM MY PREGNANCY MASSAGE UNDER PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCE?

Yes, if your pregnancy massage is provided by a qualified, insured and registered Remedial Massage Therapist your massage may be claimable with your private health insurance. Please check your personal policy to be certain you have cover.

 

HOW OFTEN CAN I HAVE A PREGNANCY MASSAGE?

Pregnancy Massages can be performed weekly if you require them.

Listen to your body and what it needs, sometimes you may want a massage weekly and at other times you may need a bigger gap.

 

HOW SOON AFTER BIRTH CAN I HAVE A FOLLOW UP MASSAGE?

Generally 10 to 14 days post birth. The mothers body needs some time to adjust and settle before any body work takes place. Check with your GP if there were any birthing complications.
